Honors Housing

As an Honors College student, you have the option to live in designated Honors housing, where you’ll be part of a vibrant community of motivated scholars. You're also eligible to apply for exclusive scholarships that can help offset tuition, fees, housing, meals, and books.

Honors Funding

Access to Transformative Learning funds supports undergraduate research, conference travel, community projects, internships and similar activities. East Texas A&M offers Honors Undergraduate Fellowship to incoming freshmen each fall. Offers are assigned at the time of scholarship acceptance and may be up to $2000 per semester.

Dynamic Student Organizations

The Student Honors Council (SHC) serves as the governing body for the Honors College, promoting scholarship and providing academic, social, service, and cultural opportunities for students. Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious general honor society, recognizes top scholars at East Texas A&M through an invitation-only membership process.

The Honors College offers programs for incoming freshmen who apply in their senior year of high school and for current East Texas A&M and transfer students.

The Honors experience at East Texas A&M provides students with opportunities to connect, create, and contribute. Students will connect to the big questions of the human experience, create new knowledge of the world around them, and contribute their unique skills and experiences as a changemaker in a dynamic world.

Access our simple online application.

Anyone with at least a 3.0 GPA can be admitted to the Honors College, but must signify their interest in the program by completing our simple online application. Applicants who earn at least 50 points on our rubric can be considered for the Honors Undergraduate Fellowship Program.

After being admitted to the Honors College, there are a few important steps to complete in the months ahead.

No. After the application deadline (January 25), selected applicants will receive information regarding applying for the Honors Undergraduate Fellowship Program, which includes a scholarship.

Honors Undergraduate Fellows will receive a flat rate scholarship of $2000 per semester for up to 8 semesters (stackable with other university scholarships).

50 students will be accepted for Fall 2025.

There is no set amount at this time, we want to expand access to our program.

Those not receiving a scholarship offer can still apply for funding to support Honors-approved undergraduate research, projects, internships, and more.

The Honors College housing policy mirrors the university housing policy. Thus, incoming students in the local area may apply for a commuter waiver through their housing application if they live within 50 miles (one hour drive). Those who wish to live on campus will live in Honors designated housing.
